PORTSMOUTH GUILDHALL MUSIC VENUE 

Portsmouth Guildhall, located in the heart of the city centre, originally opened in 1890, it was in 1926 that Portsmouth gained the status of a city and the town hall was renamed as the Guildhall. During the World War the venue was ruined by incendiary bombs and fires, and was left a shell of its former self. In 1959 the Queen re-opened the Guildhall, and with a capacity of 2,000, it has drawn in huge crowds ever since. It has seen some of the UK’s most talented artists perform on stage including Biffy Clyro, Newton Faulkner, Motorhead, McFly and Prodigy.

Portsmouth Guildhall welcomes Live and Unsigned music competition through it's doors, giving groups and solo artists the chance to audition. This is your chance to perform in the battle of the bands competition live onstage at one of the UK's best venues. Perform in front of our music industry judges from BBC Radio One, Kerrang, NME, BBC Introducing, Regional Press & record labels. Impress and secure a place in the live music showcase, and you could be on your way to performing at the Live and Unsigned Grand Final!
