Want to play a Scotland festival? Here is The Big Stooshie 2012!

Win festival slots at Scotland festival The Big Stooshie 2012 with Live and Unsigned! The Scotland festival has teamed up with Live and Unsigned to give three unsigned bands and acts from the Grand Final the chance to win festival slots at The Big Stooshie 2012 as part of the Live & Unsigned 2012 competition!

The first ever Big Stooshie festival is already making a name as a major Scotland festival. It aims to raise £100,000 for Help for Heroes and SSAFA Forces Help, which the organisers hope would make the event the largest Scottish fundraiser for the charities in 2012.

Scotland festival – The Big Stooshie 2012!

As a brand new Scotland festival, The Big Stooshie have a seriously good line-up, having most recently confirmed that global superstars James will be performing.  Joining James over the course of the event are over 50 live performers with some incredible names including; The Hoosiers, The Damned, From The Jam, The Beat, The Boomtown Rats, The Dykeenies, Tommy Reilly, The Complete Stones Roses, Kazabian, Proud Mary, Scarlet Shift and introducing with their first main stage performance, Waiting On Jack.

To finalise this incredible line-up, and further establish itself as a major force as a Scotland festival, another two top headliners will be announced shortly, but the organisers remain tight-lipped about whom they might be.

Perform at a Scotland festival

Jim Russell, managing director of Big Stooshie Productions Ltd says; “The Big Stooshie, Scotland Charity Music Festival is potentially the largest Help for Heroes fund raiser in Scotland this year, but also has another remit is to support unsigned performers and provide a platform for them to play in a festival atmosphere.

We were delighted to form this partnership with Live and Unsigned and to offer our support for their impressive project and network of live events throughout the UK. This is the first year of The Big Stooshie Festival, and we are confident that we can work with Live and Unsigned in future years, to our mutual benefit but also to continue to showcase some of the best up and coming bands in Scotland and the UK.”

If you want to perform at a festival in Scotland in 2012; look no further. The Big Stooshie will be picking three unsigned bands or acts to open each day of their festival. This is an opportunity like no other for aspiring bands from Scotland and the UK to play a major festival, on the same line up as major headline acts – surely a day to remember!

Live & Unsigned is the biggest unsigned music competition for original unsigned bands and artists in the UK. It offers the finalists the chance to play at The O2 in London alongside some of the UK's best musicians at Live Fest, London’s biggest indoor festival. There’s also £100,000 worth of prizes to be won, including an additional new main cash prize of £10,000 for the winning act to spend on development.

Auditions will begin in January 2012 and all acts in the competition are auditioned live. Acts that make it through the audition stage will get to perform to industry judges, A & R associates and celebrity guests. Judging last year’s competition and hopefully set to join the panel again in 2012 include; Radio 1 DJ’s Annie Nightingale, Ras Kwame, Tom Deacon and Daniel P Carter; Kerrang’s Alex Baker; and Happy Mondays star Bez.
