Bands Music Feedback

Ben Noke

Tom Deacon – Gentle performance. Came alive when the dancers came on. Made the band look out of place though.

Adam Perry – Good performers but a bit holiday camp?

Steve Russell – Musically very competent. Waited for it to explode and it never did.

Ben Price – One of the best original songs of Live & Unsigned 2011, I’ve loved it in every round. A few shaky vocals though.

CRAM

Gary Powell – Watch tempo’s, concentrate on locking in the vocal. Voice not strong enough.

Tom Deacon – Loud and powerful. Would have liked to hear the vocals more.

Adam Perry – Good noise. Nice and strong attitude. A bit dated. Good effort though and nice ending.

Steve Russell – Great energy at the start. Singer – look at the audience! Band really needs a leader.

Ben Price – Dated sound and image but a decent band.

Munkinpure

Gary Powell – Good performance. Concentrate on honing your skills. You look like a band.

Tom Deacon – Liked the set-up with three on stage. Drummer and singer were great. Really strong performance.

Adam Perry – Good drummer. Good personality.

Steve Russell – Get a drummer and get out front. Your vocals are great but it’s hurting your groove.

Ben Price – More chemistry needed between front two. Dated but tight. Like the singing drummer.

New Royalty

Gary Powell - Great performance. Now do it together as a band.

Tom Deacon – Loads of energy. Upbeat and excitable. Wish I was in the standing area!

Adam Perry – Good sound. Great singer. Bassist needs same look as the rest of the band.

Steve Russell – Great energy. Close to a fantastic performance. Drummer – play backbeats as rimshots!

Ben Price – Great voice, good band. Nice retro sound with a modern twist. Good image.

Pink Traffic Band

Gary Powell – Guitarist needs to listen to tempo. Lost it in the ‘ska’ section.

Tom Deacon – Good audience banter at the beginning. Original stuff. Like Skunk Anansie

Adam Perry – OK. Played well together.

Steve Russell – Singer performs well. Good musicianship all around. Costumes look like a function band. Doesn’t work, don’t rely on covers.

Ben Price – There’s something about them. Great frontwoman. Tight and with commercial potential.

Soho Dandy

Gary Powell – Check your tuning. Big sound but no cohesive performance.

Tom Deacon – Committed to their performance. Audience came on board.

Adam Perry – Liked the singer. They looked and played like a band. Had unity.

Steve Russell – Pretty good overall. The music was all there for the big ending but the energy didn’t match.

Ben Price – Great voice. Awful choice of cover! Voice diminished towards the end.

Tasty Jailbait

Gary Powell – Singer was out of tune. Convincing performance though.

Tom Deacon – Great voice, tight performance.

Adam Perry – Started well but faded a little.

Steve Russell – Can you hear each other? Vocals off tune (sorry).

Ben Price – Vocally weak to begin with. Out of key at first.

The Dirty Tricks

Gary Powell - Really liked it!

Tom Deacon – Saw these guys in Portsmouth. Smashed it there. Something wasn’t the same this time. Still a strong performance though.

Adam Perry – Original song sounded good. Good image. Looked like a band. Confident.

Steve Russell – Good performance. Good energy.

Ben Price - Cover needed their own stamp. Original song much better, really funky. Good frontman.

The Filthy Habits

Gary Powell – Great performance.

Tom Deacon – Sublime energy. I’m much obliged to watch them again.

Adam Perry – Great attitude!

Steve Russell – Good energy especially the bass player. Good performance overall. Not overly original but well done.

Ben Price – Frontman verging on scary! Loads of energy but a bit dated and a clichéd cover.

The Merry Gang

Gary Powell – Great performance.

Tom Deacon – Didn’t hold back. Gave us London Calling in a massive way.

Adam Perry – Great singer. Performance died a little.

Steve Russell – Good stage presence but nothing new. Dynamically boring. Bass player needs practice.

Ben Price – Dated. Good frontman and great with their instruments but nothing new.

Wayside

Gary Powell – Strong performance.

Tom Deacon – Great performance. Strong frontman and the drummer is insane.

Adam Perry – Singer held it together well. Nice use of keys and samples.

Steve Russell – Singer has good image. Guitar is far too stereotypical. Can’t hear snare at all.

Ben Price – Good frontman but a little flat vocally. Not an original act but good fun.

The Syndicates

Tom Deacon – Looked like they were having a lot of fun up on stage. Fair play they deserved the applause.

Adam Perry – Great band. Unity!

Steve Russell – Moments of brilliance and moments of not. Great energy.

Ben Price – Good stage performance. Vocally shaky at first. Good cover they brought it up to date.
