Top Music Industry Names to Judge Live and Unsigned Grand Final

Some top music industry names have been announced on the judging panel for the Live and Unsigned Grand Final this weekend.

More than 10,000 acts applied for Live and Unsigned this year and it all comes down to one performance at the impressive London O2 where someone will be announced as the winner of Live and Unsigned 2011.

Radio 1 Judges at Live and Unsigned Final

Rock bands will get the chance to play in front of rock-god and Radio One DJ Daniel P Carter, as well as Aled Phillips, the lead singer for Kids in Glass Houses and Ryan Richards from Funeral for a Friend.

Aled Phillips and Ryan Richards will later play DJ sets in INC Club, just one of five stages being used for Live Fest, London’s biggest indoor festival.

They’ll be joined in the Rock Final by Ollie Russell-Pearcey, who works in Artist Liaison for Blackstar.

The big names keep on coming with Radio One DJ Tom Deacon joining the line-up from the Urban/Pop/Acoustic Final onwards. He’ll be accompanied by fellow radio presenter Alex Baker from Kerrang! The Head of BGM Music Michael King is also on board for the Urban/Pop/Acoustic Final along with Annika Allen who is the Editor in Chief at Flavour Magazine. Annika is also judging the Indie Final.

Music Judges at Live and Unsigned

Happy Monday’s dancer Bez is on the Live & Unsigned judging panel as he has been for the last three grand finals, and having previously been a judge at the Area Finals in Manchester earlier this year. The former celebrity Big Brother winner is sure to bring some colour and good humour to the judges table.

Also judging the Indie and the Alternative finals is Paul Handley, who is the Director at London-based record and music management company Out of Bounds Music.

Music Industry professionals to Judge Live and Unsigned Indie Final

The Libertines drummer Gary Powell will join the judges for the Indie Grand Final at 6pm. Gary, who‘s also the drummer in Dirty Pretty Things, will then entertain the Live Fest crowd with a DJ set later on in the evening in INC Club.

The Alternative Final has another star name in the line-up and another drummer in Adam Perry, who has played with the Bloodhound Gang at sell-out arena tours. He now co-runs the label Medical Records.

Steve Russell vice-president of TC Group will also judge the Alternative Final, ahead of the results ceremony later in the evening.

Completing the line-up of judges for the Live and Unsigned Grand Final are Chris Grayston, Head of Future Music, and Ben Price who is Head of A&R at Future Music.
