Rock Judge Daniel P Carter confirmed
Rock legend Daniel P Carter is to be a Judge at the Rock Final of Live and Unsigned in London at the IndigO2. The DJ has become the UK’s authority on Rock Music – he grew up through the UK Emo and Hardcore scenes, playing in bands and putting on shows.
Since 1998 he has played in the band A, releasing four albums and achieving mainstream success, touring the world many times over playing shows and festivals with the likes of Blink 182, Deftones, Lostprophets, Muse and The Offspring.
He has also taken over as the voice of rock, hosting BBC Radio One’s Rock Show on a Monday night. Helping new up and coming bands, as well as giving an airing to the older classics, Daniel uses his experience of being in a rock band to find the best music in the genre.
Daniel P. Carter said: "Ever since I was a kid and stole my brother's cassettes of Iron Maiden and Highway To Hell by AC/DC my life was changed. Through my teens, each quality album was a new and thrilling discovery that was shared between mates at the weekend.
“To now be at the helm of the only dedicated rock and metal show on the world's greatest radio station is the most exciting thing ever. It's an opportunity for me to spread the word to both true believers and curious rock insomniacs.
“Every time I hear a record that really moves me, I am as excited as I was when I first got into heavy music. It's this excitement about new music that I want to bring to the show every week."
Daniel will be putting his enormous rock knowledge to the test as he judges for Live and Unsigned, and looks for the next big thing to share with the world! He will be Judging at the National Grand Finals on the 23rd July alongside Kerrang’s Alex Baker, Kids In Glass Houses and Ryan Richards from Funeral For a Friend.
