Live and Unsigned Regional Final Winner Supports Sandi Thom!

Live and Unsigned Regional Final winner Ashley Dawes recently supported Sandi Thom at the Cardiff Coal Exchange on the 20th March. The Live and Unsigned music competition contestant got to meet her idol, and watch singing sensation Sandi entertain the Welsh crowds.

Ashley won the chance to perform on the same stage as Sandi Thom after a busy set of events that saw her reaching the London Area Final stage of Live and Unsigned in Hayes, winning the Regional Exposure Award, by getting extensive media coverage for her act, and picking up £250 to use in a recording studio of her choice.

Ashley said that Sandi was supportive and encouraging and also said of her recent experience:

“It was fantastic to meet Sandi and it was a great experience to be supporting such a well-established artist, she was really lovely. We had some photos taken together and Sandi kindly spared her time to talk to me. She complimented me on my performance (that was SURREAL!) and I was talking to her about her fantastic set and how long her band had been together.

“I also ran into her drummer on my way back to London and we had a chat. What a lovely group of talented people, an honour to be involved with them and all the staff at UK Live and Unsigned, who were brilliant.”

Ashley thoroughly enjoyed her once in a lifetime experience and is now preparing for a recording session with the phenomenal producer Stuart Epps (The Beatles, Elton John, Robbie Williams, The Gallaghers) which she won as a prize from the UK Live and Unsigned Regional Exposure Award, as well as practicing for the all important Area Finals in Hayes!
