UK's Biggest Battle Of The Bands And Acts Competition In Edinburgh - Results

The UK’s biggest battle of the bands and acts competition took place in Edinburgh at the Corn Exchange this weekend, as the Live and Unsigned Regional Final rolled into town.

The Regional Final brought together the best unsigned acts from Edinburgh, Leith and beyond, in a bid to make it to the Area Final. Acts are now just one step away from playing the National Grand Final at Live Fest in the O2, London.

The headline act taking to the stage alongside Live and Unsigned Regional Finalists in Edinburgh was Danny Shah who took the audience by storm with some entertaining performances and Scottish charm! Danny is a returning veteran after winning the Live and Unsigned 2009 competition with his former band The Detours. Since winning Danny has gone on to record his own solo material and tour extensively, picking up a loyal fanbase along the way.

Judges presiding over the Edinburgh Regional Final included international singer and renowned vocal coach Rosalind Fountain, Professional Guitarist Alan Parkinson, Graeme Young of Chamber Studio, Fiona Elcott from Flying Pixie Management, Samantha Baigre choreographer & lecturer in Performing Arts and Graeme Scott from Leith FM.

With so much talent, it was difficult for the judges to make a decision and the successful acts that are through to the Area Final are listed below. Congratulations to those that made it through to the Scotland and North East Area Final on Sunday 24th April 2011 at the Journal Tyne Theatre, Newcastle!
