London Goes Loopy for Live and Unsigned Music Competition Auditions

Saturday 22nd January saw the UK’s biggest original music competition, Live and Unsigned, arrive at the Beck Theatre, Hayes. Over 500 auditionees battled it out for a place in the Regional Final Showcase, the theatre was crammed with the best Hayes had to offer – with talent at every turn!

Bands such as Find Me Next Fall and The Achillies to name but a few, caught the eyes of the judges, with solo acts through to the Regional Final Showcase including Matt Bandy, Martin Simmons, Ashley Dawes and Sam Brett

Please see below for selected Judges feedback from the day – Views expressed by Judges are opinions and subjective to that particular Judge panel. These views in no way reflect the views of Live and Unsigned, but are published with a view to being beneficial to the performing acts, so they may take feedback onboard with a view to helping them.

Ally and the Katz – nice concept, good front woman, nice and high energy

Martin Simmons – Great acoustic performer, strong voice, strong song

Imarni Blue – urban clear and defined image with a flowing vocal one of the day’s favourites

Ashley Dawes – good image and a strong vocal with a catchy tune, definitely one to watch

Find Me Next Fall – lead singer was full of character and energy, band needs to compliment this, otherwise good sound

Sam Brett – real potential with a really tuneful and catchy song, just needs to tighten up guitar playing

Enticing Ideas – very entertaining, unique with a touch of East London

Project RM – loved the drum 'n' bass breaks on drums, delivered with a well structured song

Matt Bandy – Brilliant song and great guitar playing

The Achilles – Strong front man lots of great personality which is needed! The backing vocals worked a treat!

Ross Bennett – a really strong song, but dynamics need to be picked up a bit

The Union Dolls – great image, need to be more expressive when performing, potential here

Fort Line– band were good, would be stronger if lead vocalist performed more and took on the role of a frontman, especially in the instrumental breakdown

Post Me To The Stars - pop rock, nice sound – the band would have a better dynamic if the lead vocalist had support with backing vocals

Kryptic - spot on urban style, good eye contact, but needs to watch mic control
