Rock Winners Set To Play Asia's Biggest Festival!

This year's Rock winner of Live and Unsigned will be given the fantastic opportunity of performing to a global audience and competing in the biggest Festival in Asia! It’s also been rated by MTV as one of the top ten must see festivals of 2010!

The opportunity is to represent the UK and the band will be competing against the winners of the Biggest music competitions from across the World in a Global face off! And the overall winner will receive $50,000 worth of prizes.

Independence Rock, now in its 25th year, is hosted over three nights in Mumbai, India in August 2010. Its aim is to promote independent musicians, artists and bands on a global platform. The festival is a global face off, featuring performances from the best unsigned bands from across the world.

A spokesperson from E18, the promoters of the festival, said "It is going to be a fantastic event this year because it's our jubilee. Bands will be travelling from all over the world to play on the Independence Rock stage. We have seven global finalists competing so this is an invaluable prize to the Rock winner of Live and Unsigned. We're confident that they will enjoy their time in India and will gain great experience performing on an International stage. There's a lot to play for – we look forward to the event in August and welcoming the UK band."

As well as print media and online coverage, Independence Rock is covered on television by CNBC, VH1, CNN and IBN7 – giving maximum exposure to all who take part. Network18 which is the parent company of E18, the organisers of Independence Rock, also own all the Major broadcasting networks in India representing a massive promotional launch for the Live and Unsigned representative.

As the UK representative, Live and Unsigned will be offering the winner of the Rock category the chance to fly to India to compete in the festival. The winning band from Live and Unsigned will get an all expenses paid trip to India including return flights from the UK to Mumbai, India, along with Indian visas, accommodation in a 4 star hotel, money for food and expenses and, of course, they'll have the chance at winning the grand prize worth $50,000! Independence Rock is on the weekend of 12th – 15th August, so the winning band must be available to travel.

And what does the overall winner of Independence Rock receive? The global winner will get $50,000 worth of prizes which include a cash prize of $30,000, and equipment worth up to $20,000 from Gibson and Yamaha/Mapex and other major equipment manufacturers. Rock On!
