Judge Line Up For The Live and Unsigned Grand Final Now Confirmed!

As well as being held at the best live music venue in the country and brimming with the best unsigned acts from across the UK, the Live and Unsigned Festival will also be full of expert judges from across the industry.

The judge panel, which is made up of National radio and TV presenters, established artists and A&R, will be on hand to give advice to artists performing at the Festival. They will also be helping to pick the best unsigned act, who’ll be crowned the winner of Live and Unsigned 2010 on the main stage. Judges at the festival include;

Slade legend Noddy Holder

As the lead singer of Slade, the legendary group behind the huge classic Merry Xmas Everybody, Noddy Holder has fronted over 40 hit singles, including six number ones. Slade had four number one albums in the UK and the hugely successful Merry Xmas Everybody sold over one million copies when it was first released.

Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale MBE

Annie Nightingale is best known as Britain’s first female DJ on Radio 1. She is now Radio 1’s longest serving broadcaster and remains the only female DJ in the world to have been honoured with an MBE by The Queen.

Radio 1 and 1Extra DJ and presenter Ras Kwame

Ras Kwame is one of the most influential radio presenters and DJ’s in the UK. He formed Baby Shack Record Label which specialised in UK garage and was responsible for some massive garage anthems including chart topper Bump n Grind. He presents for BBC 1Xtra and Radio 1 and has also presented a range of music shows including Channel U, Trouble TV and MTV Base.

RnB star Shola Ama

Billed as one of Britain’s most successful RnB artists Shola Ama’s debut album ‘Much Love’ sold over one million copies and she enjoyed chart success with the top five singles ‘You Might Need Somebody’ and ‘You’re The One I Love’. Shola has won two MOBO awards Best Newcomer and Best RnB and has won a Brit award for Best British Female.

He has also written and co-produced his own music, signing with major labels across the globe including Sony, Elap and Central Station Records.

Kerrang’s Alex Baker

Alex Baker is a DJ and Presenter for the Unsigned Show on Kerrang Radio. From touring Europe and the UK to writing and producing songs, Alex’s enthusiasm and passion for music is undeniable. Currently heading up the Unsigned show on Kerrang and listening to hundreds of demos every week means Alex knows all too well what it takes to crack the industry.
