JAKE HOOK – SONGWRITER, PRODUCER AND SINGER

Jake Hook is a multi-platinum songwriter, producer and singer who has gone on to sell in excess of 3.5 million records in the UK and over 2.5 million songs since 2009. His production, singing and songwriting features on 17 top 45 albums and singles, (including 8 top 20 albums), 1 top 10 DVD, and has won him a double platinum award, a double gold award and three gold awards.

Jake Hook found music at the young age of eight, when he taught himself to play the piano. His first recorded output came in the form of a 17 track album ‘Record On The Blag’, for which the promotional duties of the album saw Jake tour extensively across Europe, performing with the likes of Jamelia, Meatloaf, Cliff Richard and Billy Ocean.

In 2006 Jake co -founded the label LBM and embarked on an autobiographical album titled ‘The Butterfly Observations’, from which his debut single ‘Elusive You’ was released and charted in several territories. Whist promoting the album, Jake Hook became a regular fixture on the London acoustic scene, playing a number of tours and charity events. By 2009 the label he co-founded had grown to physically distribute over 400 artists across all the major European markets.

Recently Jake has found himself writing, arranging and producing for The Soldiers (Warner Brothers). Jake co-wrote their first three singles: Coming Home, A Soldier's Christmas Letter and Letters Home. The Soldier’s debut album went platinum within 3 weeks of release, and their second album achieved 200,000 sales a year later. The success of the number 4 hit ‘Coming Home’ resulted in Jake Hook signing to EMI publishing.

Jake Hook has also worked with classical pop super group Blake, New Zealand's Elizabeth Marvelly, FourNurses , The Chelsea Pensioners, Lexie Stobie, Mary Jess Leverland,  Jay Picton, Julie Atherton, and the ever present 60's icon Beryl Marsden.

Jake still lives in North London, working almost entirely on writing and producing for projects and will be using his indepth knowledge of the music scene as he joins the Live and Unsigned judging panel!
