BBC 6Music presenter

Chris Hawkins is most known for presenting the weekday early breakfast show on BBC 6Music alongside Steve Lamacq. He also deputises on Radio 2 and introduces headline acts on stage for Radio 2 and 6Music live music events.

Beginning his career at his local radio station, BBC Shropshire, Chris is now one of the most recognisable voices in the country.

Although most known for his work in radio, he also has extensive experience in TV. Chris is regularly on BBC Breakfast TV, BBC News and BBC 3 News offering opinion on music and pop-culture stories. He also presents on BBC 5Live, Radio 4’s Today Programme and has fronted both the BBC World Service UK Album Chart Show & the UK Top 20. He has appeared on various prime time shows including GMTV’s No 1 Family Auditions, BBC 3’s Freaky Eaters, Harry Hill’s TV Burp and he was the voice-over for Channel 5’s music and dance show Don’t Stop Believing in the summer of 2010.

Boasting a varied career in the media, Chris writes a monthly music column in the London magazines, ‘Angel’ and ‘North’ and has written for National magazine Now. Other achievements include DJ’ing at the BAFTA TV Awards and co-hosting the Guardian Media Awards in 2008.
