Newcastle Festival

The Newcastle festival takes place on Saturday 4^th and Sunday 5^th June 2011, 12 – 6pm at Leazes Park, Newcastle upon Tyne. Now dubbed the North’s ‘mini Glastonbury’, Newcastle Green Festival aims to raise awareness of environmental issues along with providing a stage for local talent to perform, all in one of Newcastle’s most beautiful parks. 

Now in its 16^th year, the free festival includes ‘green’ themed workshops, two stages, lots of food, a sensory tent and children’s area, global issues and justice area, a marketplace along with a circus area and healing area.

Unsigned Acts

Each year Newcastle Green Festival receives requests from unsigned acts from around the region applying to play at the festival, but spaces are always limited.

So for this Spring’s festival Newcastle Green festival is working in conjunction with the Live and Unsigned competition to find acts to play at the renowned event. Acts will be chosen from the Scotland and North East Area finals to play a slot at the festival, and the lucky winners will take to the stage in front of a crowd of thousands of music lovers.
