Want to play at Boomtown Fair - the UK’s premier ska and reggae festival, held in a secret location in Southern England?

The 2011 event saw the festival sell out for a third time in its three year history with the festival goers bringing as much of the entertainment to the show as the organisers.

Boomtown is centered around ska, ska punk, reggae and dancehall and also features a wide range of bands playing everything from gypsy swing to electro wobble and a plethora of circus acts and interactive walkabout performances.

All this and more is staged in the unique setting of a crazy town, with real streets with venues revealed behind sculpted shop frontages and mutated vehicles cruising up and down.

With tonnes of awesome site art, a fantastic kids area and crafts and workshops galore there really is something for all the family.

With so much packed into the small town, last year’s highlights included; majestic headliner Gogol Bordello, late night shenanigans from the Arcadia crew in their custom built roaming ‘Bug’ stage, dance-offs, marriages and body shaking bass round the clock from Bassline Circus and The Lions Den!

Going in to its 4th year, Boomtown Fair is unlike any other festival you will ever experience. With plenty of new surprises up their sleeves, who knows what the town officials will unveil for 2012? All we’ve heard is that it is something very, very special…

Boomtown Fair is the biggest festival of its type and every year it receives thousands of requests from unsigned acts from around the region and across the UK applying to play at the festival, but spaces are always limited.

So for the 2012 festival, Boomtown Fair is working in conjunction with the Live and Unsigned competition to find four acts to play at the renowned event. Acts will be chosen from the Cardiff live showcases to play a slot at Boomtown Fair and the lucky winners will take to the stage in front of a crowd of thousands of music lovers.
